Round One – Turf Booster

WE SERVICED YOUR LAWN TODAY.

ROUND ONE “TURF BOOSTER”

WHAT WE DID TODAY

Today your lawn received an application of fertilizer to help promote a quicker spring green up, an application of pre-emergent crabgrass control to help prevent certain grassy weeds, and some broadleaf weeds and broadleaf weed control to combat tough winter weeds as needed. If your lawn received a late aeration and seeding in the fall, an application of granular fertilizer only may be applied if the seed is still germinating or the grass is immature. To get the best results from this application, you should not mow your lawn for at least 24 hours following this treatment*

*See watering and mowing information contained in this brochure.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS APPLICATION

Because weed controls work slowly in cooler weather, you should allow at least two to three weeks before judging the effectiveness of the weed controls. At first you will notice curling of the weeds within 24 to 48 hours of the application. You may, however, notice some flowering or a little more growth at first, as this is part of the way that weed controls affect the plants. As the plants continue to die, you will notice a gradual decay of the plant. Color response from the fertilizers may be a little slow during cooler weather, but the root system will continue to develop to help establish a healthier plant overall.

WATERING YOUR LAWN

Watering is essential to get the best results from your lawn treatment. Watering helps to move nutrients to the root zone of the turf where it can be utilized by the grass plants. Watering will also aid in establishing the grassy weed control barrier in the soil. Note: This application will usually dry on the turf within 30 minutes after the treatment. Rainfall after this time should not diminish the effectiveness of the weed controls.

MOWING YOUR LAWN

You should begin mowing your lawn as soon as the grass begins to grow. Mowing will help improve color and help new grass to mature. Remember to never mow of more than 1/3 of the grass blade on a mowing for optimum health.

NEXT VISIT

Your next regularly scheduled treatment will also include fertilizers and weed controls to further enhance the health and vigor of your lawn.

BETWEEN VISITS

Whenever you have concerns or suspect a problem between visits, please do not hesitate to call us. All full program customers (5 or 6 lawn or tree/shrub treatments per year) are entitled to one free service call up to 14 days after an application is made.

SPRING SEEDING

Spring seeding in this area is not encouraged or advised for a number of reasons including the fact that spring seeded turf does not have time to harden of against disease and hot summer temperatures. Spring seeding also prevents the application of most types of weed controls. However, we recognize some homeowners find it necessary to seed in the spring. If you must seed in the spring, please be sure to call and let us know so that we may adjust your program or schedule accordingly. To keep your lawn and landscape looking its best, Turf Managers lawn care programs are continuous services. No need to call to renew your scheduled treatments. They will be automatically scheduled for the next season.
